An Injured Employee Should Never Feel Like a Claim Number.

WMI helps employers understand their role in the workplace injury process and develop stronger strategies for communication, coordination, and return to work.

Reporting the Claim Should Not Be the Employer's Final Step.

Workforce Management Institute was founded on a simple but powerful belief: employers have an important role in the workplace injury and return-to-work process. Too often, employers report an injury, submit the workers' compensation claim, and unintentionally step away from the process. Without a clear strategy for communication, coordination, and return to work, treatment delays may occur, lost time can increase, and employees may begin to feel disconnected from the organization they serve. WMI helps employers change that. We provide organizations with the education, strategies, tools, and resources needed to remain informed and appropriately engaged throughout the workplace injury process.

I Believe There Is a Better Way.

For more than 18 years, I have worked in workplace injury and workforce coordination, including over 16 years in leadership. During that time, I have seen the same challenge repeatedly: many employers simply do not understand the workers' compensation process or recognize the important role they can play in an injured employee's recovery and successful return to work.

Too often, an injury is reported, a claim is submitted, and the employer unintentionally steps away. The process continues, but the employee may experience delays, limited communication, and uncertainty about what happens next.

Insurance carriers serve an essential role in claims administration and cost management. However, employers bring something equally valuable to the process: knowledge of their employees, their workplace, and the opportunities available to safely support recovery and return to work.

When employers remain engaged, maintain meaningful communication, help identify barriers to care, and support a safe and timely return-to-work strategy, employees can feel supported rather than forgotten. Treatment delays may be minimized. Lost time and its associated costs can be reduced. The potential for unnecessary claim escalation may decrease.

An injured employee should never feel like a claim number. They are a member of your workforce. They are a person navigating an injury, treatment, financial concerns, and uncertainty about their ability to return to work. How an employer responds during that time matters.

That is why I founded Workforce Management Institute. My mission is to help employers better understand the process, strengthen their return-to-work strategies, and become informed, engaged participants in supporting injured employees from the time of injury through recovery and return to work.
